James Harden – The James Harden’s Volume 4 released October 12th, of 2019. James Harden is a former MVP of the NBA, so for him to continually have a shoe deal with Adidas is well deserved. Currently, Harden is averaging over 30 points per game, and is one of the most well know prolific scorers of our game.

Stephen Curry- The Curry 7’s released early October of 2019. For Curry to have 7 signature shoes is a no brainer. He is currently signed with Under Armor. Stephen Curry is a two time MVP of the NBA and a three time NBA champion. What describes Curry’s game is a barrage of three point shots. Along with his splash brother Klay Thompson, Curry could very well be headed to another championship.

Kevin Durant– The KD 12 released April 1st, of 2019. Durant has two NBA Championships and two Finals MVP. Along with that he as one league MVP. He also is a signed Nike athlete. Durant has been a top 5 player in the NBA for many years, but not until recently has he entered the top 3 conversation. Being nearly seven feet tall, with the handles of a small guard, and great jump shot, makes debates for him to be the best valid. The only criticism he faces is his decisions to join the Golden State Warriors who were already a high caliber team.

Kyrie Irving– The Kyrie 6 released November 11th, of 2019. Another Nike athlete. Kyrie is a one time NBA Champion and one of the most well know scorers in the league. He is well known for his handles and craftiness when finishing at the basket. The last couple of years, Irving has been moving team to team, but he looks to achieve another title shot with the Brooklyn Nets, alongside his new teammate Kevin Durant.

Lebron James– Three time NBA Champion and Finals MVP, Lebron james is on his 17th edition of signature shoes. He is currently the player with the most signature that is actively playing in the league. For more information about Lebron, checkout previous blogs about his sneaker history.

THE FLU GAME

Here in this photo, Michael is wearing his 12th signature Air Jordan shoe. What makes this red/black colorway popular is the conditions Jordan played under in a finals game. Before this iconic game, Michael Jordan came down with a severe case of Flu-like symptoms. It was very questionable whether he would play or not. Michael Jordan being himself, decided to tough it out and attend the game vs the Utah Jazz, in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. The series was tied 2-2, so the Chicago Bulls were depending on their star player to perform. He spoke about being very dehydrated entering the game, so it was unsure about what type of performance he would give. At the final stretch of the game, Jordan buried a clutch three to seal the game. Jordan recorded 38 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block.

THE LAST SHOT

“The last shot” Air Jordan 14’s. This shoe is iconic because it was worn during Michael Jordan’s final game with the Bulls. It was Game 6 of the 1998 Finals and the Bulls were down. The Utah Jazz had the lead during the final minute of the game, and miraculously Jordan made a comeback. He stole the ball and iced the game with a mid-range jumper. He finished with 39 points, Finals MVP, and his sixth Championship.

63 vs Celtics

In this particular game, Jordan unleashed 63 points vs the infamous Bird Celtics, in a double-overtime game. Jordan also showcased his Air Jordan 1’s Chicago colorway. This was one of Jordan’s best scoring performances and what stamped him as the new face of the NBA. Larry Bird, Hall of Famer, said that the best way to describe him that night was ” It was just God disguised as Micael Jordan”

LEBRON JAMES-17 Models

Lebron James has 17 models of signature sneakers. He began his journey in the NBA in 2003 as the Number 1 draft pick, straight out of high school. He signed with Nike, and they built his shoes to complement his play style. Lebron being at 6’8 250 pounds foward needed a lot of support to hold his physical frame. So each year, cushioning and ankle support was a priority in molding the sneaker.

Kobe Bryant–22 Models

Kobe “Bean” Bryant played 20 seasons in the NBA. For the first 10 years he wore the number 8, and for the next half he wore 24. Unfortunately, Kobe recently died in a helicopter crash, along with his daughter. This tragic death affected millions across the world. Thankfully, people today lived to witness his greatness. Kobe Bryant has 22 signature shoes starting from 1997. In 1996 he was drafted at the 13th pick, straight from high school. Kobe’s first deal was with Adidas. When Kobe Bryant started to develop his new persona called “The Black Mamba”, he released the Mamba pack. During this time, he signed with Nike and has been releasing a new sneaker annually.

Micheal Jordan-26 Models

Micheal Jordan was drafted in 1984 from the University of North Carolina. The following year he was drafted at the 3rd pick in the NBA draft. Micheal Jordan is arguably the greatest player to ever play the game of basketball. Even though, he retired in 1999, his name his still sparked in conversations of the best, next to players people are familiar with today like Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, and etc. Also, Hall of Famers before his time like Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-jabbar, Bill Russel, Larry Bird, and more.

5. Nike Waffle Racer

Designer Virgil Abloh teamed with Nike to create a re visioned version of the waffle racer. They went with a spiked aesthetic, with a clear plastic wrap, and extra green laces across the shoe. All three colorways released on October 24th, 2019. The retail price was set at $150 USD.

4. NIKE AIR force 1 MCA University Blue

Virgil Abloh presented the Off-White Air Forces with a stitched reflector Nike swoosh. When these released, they were in high demand and one of the most anticipated shoes releases of 2019. They released September 20th, of that year and now go for the sale price of around $1,800 USD.

3. Jordan 1 University Blue

The Jordan 1 university blue released June 23rd, 2018. These were the third Jordan 1 off-white colorway that Virgil Abloh had designed for his collaboration with the Jordan brand. What makes this shoe shoe unique fro other Jordan one designs is that the off-white version does not have the Nike Air logo on the tongue of the shoe, but they placed the word “Air” on the shoes mid sole. They are available today for about $1,100 USD.

2. Nike Air vapor max Black

The Off-White vapor max black edition originally released on August 9th, 2017. These were a popular demanded shoe, even though they are expensive. You can purchase these today for about $1,200 USD. They are very similar to their remodel that released in 2018. The main differences between the two would be how the recent version has a black tongue, black Nike swoosh and clear out sole. The 2018 version is cheaper than its original, mainly for the reason of it being a spin off.

1. NIke zoom fly Pink

These remarkable shoes released November 28th, 2018. These shoes were very unique in a way because of how it was built to be transparent. The retail price was set at $170 USD. Today they are sold for approximately $300 USD. These personally are a shoe that I would like to add to my collection in the near future.

Air Zoom Generations

These were Lebron James’s first signature shoes once he joined the NBA in 2003. He wore this color way in his rookie debut for the Cleveland Cavilers versus the Sacramento Kings on October 29th.

ZOOM Lebron II

Lebron James second shoe released November 6th, 2004. The the design of the Zoom II resembled the original style of the Air Zoom Generations, but creators decided to add a velcro strap across the tongue of the shoe. Also, Lebron wore the Zoom II’s as he represented the Eastern Conference in his first All-Star Game appearance. He poured in 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists in a win over the Western Conference All-Stars.

Zoom Lebron II

The third signature shoe released November 12th, 2005. Creators went with more of a smooth look with this design by adding premium leather and more zoom air in the sole of the shoe. Lebron’s 2005-2006 season started Lebron on his path to greatness. He became the youngest player in NBA history to average 30 points. Along with averaging 31.4 points, Lebron finished with 7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game.

Zoom Lebron IV

Released November 13th, 2006. The Zoom IV took on a whole new look by incorporating 3 straps across the shoe laces and adding foamposite, which hasn’t been present in any of the Zoom editions except the first, Air Zoom Generation. This particular season led to a slight decline in Lebron’s stats. He averaged 27.3 points, 6 assist, and 6.7 rebounds. It’s safe to say the Lebron III did him more justice.

Zoom Lebron V

The Zoom V’s went with a more appealing look by a adding a premium leather with a shiny toe box. The velcro for this edition was replaced a buckle strap that snaps into the side of the shoe. The lebron V is said to have the best traction out of all 17 signature shoes. What seems like a bulky shoe, shields high tech material that makes the shoe comfortable for it’s buyers, and particularly supports lebron’s large body. This season ended with his first final appearance. This help him emerge into his “King James” persona during these times, and this shoe was a perfect fit to help him fill the role.

Air Max lebron VI

On October 31th of 2008, Nike went with the approach of not only a basketball shoe for on-court. They wanted to match the style of Micheal Jordan’s shoe collection or Penny Hardaway’s foamposites ability to be worn off-court. The goal was to be a more stylistic shoe that still fits and meets the needs of on-court necessities, such as support, traction, and comfort. Also Lebron clinched his first ever Most Valuable Player award. He averaged 28.4 points, 7.2 assist, and 7.6 rebounds

Air Max Lebron VII

The Air Max Lebron VII released October 4th, of 2009. The shoe contain 23 lines of fly wire, which represented his jersey number and a built in sloping air max unit which contained 80 percent more air than the air max 360s. Lebron was also won his first second Most Valuable Player award from the 2009-2010 season. He averaged 29.7 points, 8.6 assist, and 7.3 rebounds

Air max Lebron VIII

Released date was set on October 26th. The 2010-2011 season marked the year of “The Decision”. In other words, the year Lebron moved to play for the Miami, Heat. Lebron faced massive criticism for leaving Cleveland. This had an effect on his merchandise sales. Lebron went for the home town hero, to being perceived as an ring chaser. The team consisted of Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh, two perennial All-Stars. They came to a disappointing end of the season by losing to the Dallas, Mavericks.

Lebron 9

First released on October 25th. The Lebron 9’s were one of his more popular shoes. They were stylish and had great performance on-court. As for the season, it was Lebron’s make or break season, because his legacy was on the line. He won League MVP again, but it wasn’t enough for fans. People started to question if Lebron would every win a Championship. He ended up winning his first NBA Championship that season over the Oklahoma City, Thunder. Along with this accomplishment, he received finals MVP.

LEBRON 10

The tenth shoe to releasing at the end of the decade, were the Lebron 10’s. They featured one-piece Hyperfuse upper with Flywire, an asymmetrical collar and diamond inspired detailing. Lebron also won League MVP, along with the Finals MVP over the San Antonio, Spurs.
